Stacheldrahtzaun im Konzentrationslager Dachau: Am 21. März 1933 gab Heinrich Himmler die Errichtung eines Konzentrationslagers in Dachau in Auftrag. Damit begann in Dachau ein Terrorsystem, das mit keinem anderen staatlichen Verfolgungs- und Strafsystem verglichen werden kann. Die ersten Häftlinge waren politische Gegner des Regimes, Kommunisten, Sozialdemokraten, Gewerkschafter, vereinzelt auch Mitglieder konservativer und liberaler Parteien. Auch die ersten jüdischen Häftlinge wurden auf Grund ihrer politischen Gegnerschaft in das Konzentrationslager Dachau eingeliefert. In den folgenden Jahren wurden immer neue Gruppen nach Dachau verschleppt: Juden, Homosexuelle, Zigeuner, Zeugen Jehovas, Geistliche u.a. Allein als Folge des Novemberpogroms, der sogenannten Reichskristallnacht, wurden mehr als 10.000 Juden in das Konzentrationslager Dachau gebracht. Insgesamt waren über 200.000 Häftlinge aus mehr als 30 Staaten in Dachau inhaftiert. (Foto vom 25.10.2002)
