土耳其外长居尔周一在柏林与联邦外长菲舍尔举行会谈，菲舍尔再次强调德国支持欧盟与土耳其展开入盟谈判的态度，居尔则相反，对德国政坛有关土耳其入盟谈判的争论表示理解。此外双方会谈的内容还包括德国向土耳其提供坦克的问题。

通奸法的争论与土耳其入盟

10月6日欧盟委员会将提出有关土耳其改革进程报告。在这个基础上，欧盟国家和政府首脑将在年底的峰会上决定，是否开始同土耳其政府展开入盟问题谈判。一段时间以来，土耳其的改革进展顺利。比如土耳其取消了死刑，批准播放库尔德语电视节目。但最近的一场有关通奸法的争论迫使土耳其政府暂停了法律改革进程。
