位於北海的黑爾戈蘭島是德國唯一的一座深海島嶼。說它是深海島嶼其實並不完全準確，因為它仍與大陸架相連，只不過遠離大陸而已。黑爾戈蘭島的面積只有兩平方公里大小。在五彩砂岩上面棲息著許多不同種類的海鳥，大群的海豹也在這裡安了家。黑爾戈蘭島上的空氣是全德國最潔淨的。夏天，白色的沙灘和免稅商品吸引著大批的遊客。而冬季到來後，島上的1260居民就會感到非常寂寞。在風浪過大的日子，黑爾戈蘭島與大陸聯繫的紐帶－渡船就會停開，島嶼便暫時與世隔絕了。

義大利請求歐盟協助解決難民問題
