Soa, mentally challenged from birth, was found abandoned at the door of a hospital three years ago. The case was reported to the police who brought him to THINK. In recent times, Liberia continues to recover from a ruinous 14-year civil war that ended in 2003. Although the Government is working to rebuild the country‚Äôs destroyed infrastructure, many Liberians still live without access to basic services. The influx of approximately 178,000 refugees from Cv¥te d'Ivoire, who fled their own country after controversy surrounding the 28 November 2010 presidential election turned violent, has only exacerbated the situation. Waning supplies of safe drinking water and food, inadequate sanitation facilities, constricted access to medical care and overcrowding all threaten the health of Liberian and Ivorian children alike. The education of many children has also been disrupted because refugees stay in schools when there are not enough families to host them. The poor condition of roads makes it difficult for aid to reach remote areas, where many of the most vulnerable families live. Many of the refugees have returned home, but thousands have stayed back, often hosted by Liberian communities and families, both in rural and urban areas of the country. NGOs and the Liberian Government continue to work hard to provide life-saving services for both Liberian citizens and Ivorian refugees.

A ranar wannan Alhamis (30.05.13) ce Majalisar Dinkin Duniya ta fitar da rahoton da ke cewar, kananan yara wadanda ke fama da nakasa ne aka fi nunawa wariya da kuma yin watsi da su wajen gudanar da al'amuran duniya. Rahoton ya kara da cewar, sau da dama hatta rajistar haihuwa ma ba a yi musu, kuma ana zaluncesu yayin hulda, a wani lokacin ma harda kissansu.

Asusun kula da kananan yara na Majalisar Dinkin Dniya UNICEF, wanda ya fitar da rahoton game da halin da kananan yara ke ciki a duniya na shekara ta 2013, ya ce galibin matsalolin da kananan yara da ke fama da nakasa ke fuskanta, ba sa fitowa fili.

Darektan asusun Anthony Lake ya shaidawa kanfanin dillancin labaran Faransa na AFP, gabannin fitar da rahoton a birnin Vienna na kasar Austria cewar, yara da ke fama da nakasa sun fi hadarin ci gaba da zama cikin talauci, da rashin samun ilimi da kuma kula da lafiyarsu. Rahoton ya bayar da misali da irin wariyar da kananan yara zabaya ke fama da ita a kasar Tanzaniya, inda a wasu lokutan ake kashesu.
