對前埃及總統穆爾西的法庭審理在開庭不久後即宣佈延期至明年1月8日。這位埃及歷史上首位民選總統拒絕承認該特別法庭,並拒絕由律師為其辯護。在特別法庭所在的大樓前,穆爾西的支持者和反對者發生衝突。穆爾西和另外14名被告被控應對去年12月發生的多名反政府示威者死亡事件負責。如被裁定有罪,穆爾西可被判終身監禁或者死刑。
