北韓駁回了聯合國對其侵犯人權的指責。北韓駐聯合國特使在紐約人權委員會表示,世人應該為北韓的全民免費教育和醫療感到驕傲。在此之前,聯合國人權委員會特別報告員指責平壤領導人侵犯人權,自新的領導人金正恩上台以來人權狀況仍然毫無改善,言論自由繼續受到限制,法律制度不符合國際標準以及1600萬人營養不良。此外,成千上萬的人在監獄裡遭受迫害,被強迫勞動。北韓駐聯合國大使駁回了所有這些指責。
