綠色和平警告加大採煤將給中國帶來水危機

Drought continues to plague many parts of China, with tens of thousands people suffering water shortages and millions of others affected. Since October, little rain has fallen in several provinces including Shandong, Hebei, Henan, Anhui, Shanxi and Jiangsu. The State Council, Chinas Cabinet, allocated 2.2 billion yuan (US$334 million) for farm irrigation and drought-relief equipment and supplies on Thursday (27 January 2011). The central government has earmarked 4 billion yuan to ensure drinking water supply and water conservation projects in drought-hit regions..

綠色和平組織呼籲中國重新思考能源政策,以免中國北部爆發水危機。綠色和平在本周二發表的一份報告中稱,如果中國堅持計劃中的煤礦開發和電站修建項目,中國每年需要多耗費100億立法米的水。對現在就缺水的中國北方來說將是雪上加霜。中國政府計劃至2015年每年增加煤炭開采22億噸,此外還將興建16座新的火力發電站,大部分在北方。綠色和平組織稱,煤礦開采和發電對水資源的大量需求對黃河生態和周邊人民的生活帶來嚴重影響。
