Six world powers and Iran have narrowed gaps on a deal to curb Tehran's nuclear programme in return for suspended sanctions, but diplomats said that a full consensus was still lacking in Geneva. Diplomats from Britain, China, France, Russia, the United States and Germany were working with their Iranian counterparts on the technical steps to limit the enrichment of uranium, to ensure that Iran's uranium stock cannot be used for nuclear weapons, and to stop work on a new plutonium-producing reactor at Arak.
