A handout photo released by United Nation African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), shows freed Senegalese peacekeepers, with their pet sheep, preparing to receive the UNAMID Force Commander, Lieutenant General Patrick Nyamvumba in Umm Baru, North Darfur, Sudan, 22 February 2012. A 55-peacekeeper contingent was blocked on 19 February while conducting a long-range patrol some 60 kilometers from its team site in Umm Baru, in the village of Shegeg Tova, by more than 100 armed men belonging to the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM). The patrol consisted of 50 Senegalese peacekeepers along with three police advisors and two language assistants. The stand-off ended after the arrival of substantial peacekeeping reinforcements, and repeated contacts between JEM leadership and UNAMID representatives.
