Zoo animals recover after Ivory Coast civil war

A civil war two years ago brought battles and violence to the streets of Abidjan. At the time, the city had a zoo with lions, chimps and elephants. But the fighting forced the keepers away from the zoo - and many of the animals died of starvation. The conflict has now ended, the cages are being repaired and the animals slowly nursed back to health.
