The state of LGBTQ rights in India

The Indian Supreme Court last year unanimously decided to end a colonial era ban that criminalized homosexuality. It was a watershed ruling for India's LGBTQ community. But given that homophobia was sanctioned by the state for 160 years it is not surprising that the fight for equality is far from over. So what are the challenges and aspiration for India's LGBTQ community?
