Every year, dozens of people in Cape Town die due to gang related violence. But the city also has a thriving community of so-called gang interrupters — citizens who take it upon themselves to try and broker peace in gang wars. Many have grown up in the area and have earned the respect of the gang bosses over the years. Tony Andrews met with one of the mediators to better understand his motivation.
