Over the past ten years, acts of piracy in the Gulf of Guinea have risen steeply. West African pirates frequently hijack oil tankers for their cargo. Much like their Somali counterparts, they also kidnap the foreign crews for ransom. We hear the stories of crew whose ship was hijacked off the coast of Nigeria in February.
