More than 300 million Indians are affected by the worst drought in a decade. After two consecutive years of weak monsoons, it is a tough life particularly for farmers. The next monsoon is due to start in a few weeks' time. But it will take months before farmers can reap the crops they hope to sow once the rain has come.
