World court rules Israel must stop its Rafah offensive

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ordered Israel to immediately halt its military offensive in the Gazan city of Rafah. It called the humanitarian situation there “disastrous” and ordered Israel to allow unhindered access of aid. Michael Becker, former ICJ legal advisor, says the ruling is “a pretty extraordinary development” for South Africa, which brought the case against Israel.
