Walruses forced ashore in Alaska

Report: Nicole Markwald/ Presented by Helen SeeneyOctober 9, 2014

Thousands of exhausted walruses have turned up on a remote beach in Alaska. Scientists say their retreat to the Alaskan shoreline is due to the melting of arctic ice caused by climate change. Ice for these marine mammals is an important part of their habitat - as they use these ice platforms to rest upon, give birth and nurse their young.
