Villarrica in Chile – lahars and pyroclastic flows

The Villarrica volcano in Chile is one of the most active in South America. At its foot are many villages of the indigenous Mapuche. To better predict hazards like lahars and pyroclastic flows, a team is researching the sounds Villarrica makes.
