TT:With media barred from Tibet, it's hard to ascertain the nature of anti-Chinese demonstrations - je 18.03.2008,13h

Welcome back. Tibet has remained largely cut off from the outside world since Chinese security forces moved in to break up protests there, and the capital Lhasa is under virtual lockdown. With foreign media barred from the region, it's hard to ascertain the true nature of the weekend's anti-Chinese demonstrations. It's also uncertain what has happened to many of the protestors. China blames Tibetan "mobs" for the deaths of 13 people in the riots. But Tibetan exile groups say around 100 people or more were killed as China quashed the protests. +++SYN MAZ+++
