For more on the EU perspective on today's developments, we're joined by our correspondent in Brussels, Geoff Meade. ++++ Geoff, some EU heavyweights have let it be known that they will quickly recognise the new Kosovo state -- who are they, and when will they make that move? ++++ But there are other EU members who have considerable reservations. ++++ The creation of an independent Kosovo is very much a joint EU-US project. There were demonstrations last night at the US embassy in Belgrade. Could there be a backlash there or elsewhere against the US or EU? ++++ Has the EU really got its heart in this? It's easy to be there in the beginning -- but, as we know from other similar cases -- it's all about staying for the long haul. ++++
