The people of Kyrgyzstan have voted on a new constitution

To Kyrgyzstan, where the country's interim leader Roza Otunbayeva says voters have given their approval to a new constitution in a referendum that's been taking place today. The poll -- which it's hoped will help restore stability in the central Asian republic -- has been staged against the backdrop of recent clashes between Kyrgyz groups and the Uzbek minority. The violence, that focussed on the southern city of Osh, left hundreds of people dead and forced tens of thousand to flee their homes.
