The Future is Now - Michael Ballhaus’ Climate Initiative

Michael Ballhaus set out to use adverts to raise people’s awareness of climate change. Climate awareness films that tend to lecture rarely go down well with their target audiences. So the famous Hollywood cameraman consulted marketing experts on how best to get the message across.

The acclaimed cameraman decided to adopt an alternative approach together with some film students. In the first four adverts, they ask him and famous movie directors what they would miss most in a future affected by advanced climate change. The responses were turned into short films.
