The Chancellor Under Pressure - Libya, Nuclear Power, the Euro

Never before has Chancellor Merkel had to make so many far-reaching decisions all at once. She has had some of Germany's aging nuclear reactors shut down and is now pushing for a quicker shift to alternative energy sources. In foreign policy, she decided against German participation in the international military intervention in Libya. And when it comes to strengthening the euro, she's not opposed to greater German financial support if it's needed to save the currency. Many fellow conservatives are upset and don't understand the chancellor's hasty course.
