Tensions over indigenous land rights and development in Bolivia

A government road project that could cut through Native lands sparks controversy in Bolivia. Inside the TIPNIS indigenous territory people live by fishing, farming, and hunting. On the fringes of that protected space, coca farmers lead a very different lifestyle tied to markets. While many in the park reject the proposed road, but is broadly supported by the coca farming communities outside.
