Tourism is the most important sector of the Seychelles' economy, with a total contribution of over 50 percent to GDP. So you may think it would be easy for the country to become more affluent – just increase the number of visitors, and that's it. But there is a catch: If more and more tourists come, the marine, coastal and terrestrial environment they came to enjoy would be destroyed.
