The German airline Lufthansa has cancelled around 70 flights because of a planned 32-hour strike by French air traffic controllers beginning on Monday evening. “On Tuesday we will only have three return flight between Frankfurt and Paris,” a Lufthansa spokesman said on Monday. Some 6,500 passengers will be affected by the cancellations and must be booked onto later flights or put on one of the three flights scheduled for Tuesday for which larger aircraft have been called into service. Air France and British Airways also announced cancellations of a large number of their flights.
