Russia’s stance over Ukraine has stirred strong emotions in the Baltic States. Hundreds of Latvians have protested over the past few weeks to express their outrage over Moscow's action. Senior politicians in Latvia have also condemned the Kremlin’s hostile behaviour towards a sovereign European state. Latvia is a member of the European Union and NATO.
