Replanting trees on Easter Island

Easter Island - once covered in forest - famously chopped down all its trees and left little but barren landscape. The island's harsh climate and lack of trees has devastated the soil, making it difficult for saplings to take root. Efforts are now underway to reforest the island, in the hope that erosion of soil can be stopped.
