Slovakia and Ukraine have signed a deal to allow gas from Central Europe to be sent to Ukraine via a disused pipeline. Since its conflict with Russia, Ukraine has been looking to diversify its gas supplies, amid a worsening dispute over unpaid bills and fears the Russian energy giant Gazprom could simply turn off the taps.
