Burmese Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi recently issued a report that caused anger and outrage in a small village in the northeast of the country. She backed the expansion of a copper mine in Monywa which villagers say was built on illegally seized land. They also say that the mine has led to a rise in disease and pollution.
