Mom’s with Part-time Jobs Happiest

Young mothers in Germany who work part-time rather than fulltime tend to be happier than their counterparts. According to a report released Wednesday by the German Institute for Economic Research, the key to happy motherhood is to continue working, but only part time. The study found that women who had given up their careers altogether to have children and those who went back to work fulltime, leaving their small children at home, to be less content than those who had found a better balance between raising a family and maintaining a career. The report also noted that the dearth of daycare slots available for children makes it difficult for women to return to the workforce.
