Mirror Therapy for Chronic Pain

VideoassistentenJanuary 26, 2012

In mirror therapy, the patient places a healthy arm or hand in front of a mirror and the painful one behind it. Then the patient moves the healthy limb, following its movements in the mirror. This tricks the brain into believing that it's actually the painful limb that is moving normally. And that enables it to start rewiring the neurons responsible for the perception of chronic pain.
