The process of globalization -- which has grown out of the relationships between states, especially at an economic level, for the past two decades, has also influenced cultural and political fields, particularly in developing countries.

Although these countries see themselves as protectors of old traditions and values, the young people there, due to globalization, are interested for the cultural norms and values of the West, and in particular of the USA, which are enormously different from current traditional norms and lifestyles.

This fact is often vilified by the older generations and governments in these countries. Instead of recognizing that their young people are moving toward cultural globalization on their own, they see the process as a foreign cultural attack that endangers their own values.
