Hard times for traditional farmers on Kilimanjaro

Kilimanjaro’s main claim to fame is that it is the highest mountain in Africa. But not many people know that coffee, mangos and bananas are grown on the forested slopes, where farmers cultivate the land using to a centuries-old technique known as Kihamba. It’s a sustainable form of agro-forestry, but it’s also labor-intensive. And times are hard. Andrea Rönsberg presents a report by Linda Staude.
