Group F continues.
Stay with DW-World.de for all the action of the match between Brazil and Australia. Both teams have won their first round games and will go on the pitch for another win and thus head into the last sixteen. Australia full of confidence after the "surprise" victory over Japan and Brazil, possibly, a bit nervous because of their all but perfect performance against the Croats.

It's all yellow in Munich.
Both teams have fans in yellow and the stadium is packed with them as the teams get ready to enter the pitch.

The crowd roars as the teams, Australia in their away blue strips, come on.

The camera sets on Ronaldo for a long while during the anthem. Nothing is to read in his face though.

The socceroos get a warm welcome by their many fans.

Brazil get the match rolling.

Ze Roberto tries the first cross from left. Brazil have taken a grip on things already, not leaving much room for the Aussies to leave their half.

Kaka shoots just wide.
Ronaldo flicks the ball over his head just outside the box to Kaka who shoots half volley. The ball almost licks the outside of the net.

First longer moment for the Aussies on offensive half ends with a long shot on goal from Viduka.

The Aussies break Ronaldo outside the box and counter but are stopped themselves just over the mid line.

Ronaldinho gets a free-kick in the circle.

Corner for Australia.
Lots of room on the Brazilian right leaves Chipperfield free to charge. It ends with a corner.

Free-kick Brazil
On the right side of the box. Grella leaves his mark on Ronaldo's leg and could have gotten booked.

Carlos goes up to the ball and shoots it wide to the left of the goal.

The Aussies line up along the box and get quite a bit of room but the resulting shot hardly reaches Dida in the Brazilian goal.

Emerton sees the first yellow of the game.
The Socceroo shows his contempt for the decision.

The first minutes' attempts by the Brazilians to push the tempo have slowly changed into a more even fight.

Hiddink gives orders to Grella waiting for an Aussie free-kick that Culina delivers.

The result is a throw from the left and the ball ends in the hands of Schwarzer.

Ronaldinho tries with a long ball for Ronaldo but it's too long and goes over the line to some whistling from the Brazilian crowd.

Ronaldinho goes towards goal but the Socceroos' defense line is tight.

Brazil are trying again to raise the tempo and to put pressure on the Aussie goal but little is accomplished.

The whistling intesifies as Brazil yet again loses possession.

Ronaldinho moves into the box.
But as a symbol of the game so far the smiling Brazilian stumbles and falls over the ball.

Culina shoots on goal.

Good play from Brazil leads to corner.
Kaka crosses from the left and the ball reaches Ronaldinho who chips it in to Ronaldo. The shot is deflected over the line.

Free-kick Australia.
Well hit but the ref finds a Brazilian free-kick in the box.

Ronaldo
The frustrated scorer hits the ball towards goal long after the whistle had him offside.

Viduka has the chance to shoot just outside the box but he hesitates.

The Aussies try to lock themselves outside the Brazilian box, and it works for a while until the decisive moment, which ends in a pitiful shot.

Ronaldinho flicks the ball to Ronaldo again, but the unlucky striker hits air and no leather.

Kaka croosses to Adriano rushing through the box.

The Aussie comes flying through the air Kung-Fu style and the card is inevitable.

The defender leaves the pitch with his head hanging and Bresciano takes over.

Good shot from Ronaldo.
Ronaldinho heels the ball over to Ronaldo who fires off the ball just to the right of the goal.

Viduka and Lucio fight for a ball outside the Brazilian box and Viduka wins but his cross is stopped.

Bresciano gets the last chance of the half.

The Aussie fires away a strong shot that dips but it's still too high.

With the two teams leaving the pitch there's no question the Aussies are the happier lot. Their fans cheer while the Brazilians go into the tunnel asking themselves how they'll be able to break through the Socceroos' tight line in the second half.

The teams are back on the pitch waiting for the second half.

Kaka storms down the right but reaches the ball just as it goes over the endline.

Ronaldinho passes Ronaldo on the box line. The striker passes the ball on to Adriano who stops the ball before he places it along the pitch at the far right of the goal.

A singing Brazilian crowd at last.
The crowd is in the game and so is the Brazilian team after their lead.

Bresciano on his way to goal.
The Aussie is free with the goalie after a counter but is too slow. Ze Roberto manages to break.

Sterjovski fires a canon ball not far above Dida's goal in an attempt to get the Aussies back in the game.

Kewell wins a corner

60. min.
Kewell free but is stopped by Ze Roberto who now have saved the Brazilians twice.

Emerson almost finds Carlos who have moved into the box.

After a spell of high tempo and chances on both sides it seems like the Aussies are trying to play in their on, slightly slower, rhythm.

Ronaldinho starts a counter and passes the ball to Cafu on the right but his cross is too long.

but stands again after a minute.

Kewell gets a counter ball and tries to lob the ball over Dida in the Brazilian goal.

Aloisi goes on for Moore
as the Aussies are hoping to repeat the events of the japanese game.

Kaka pushes the ball from the circle and fires a decent shot on goal.

A double. Emerson leaves for Gilberto Silva and Ronaldo gives room for Robinho.

Robinho gets a first shot but there's too much foot under the ball which goes up into the stands.

Ronaldinho delivers a free-kick to Robinho who gets stuck in the box between two Aussie defenders.

Schwarzer saves shot from Robinho
The Aussie goalie saves without really seeing the ball coming towards him.

Bresciano throws himself in the air to meet the cross with his foot and it's a beautiful finish.

Roberto Carlos free-kick results in corner.

Kaka header hits post.
Ronaldinho's corner is met by Kaka at the near post and the Brazilian heads it straight on the goalpost.

Robinho gets yellow after complaining to the ref about a free-kick.

Bresciano hits the free-kick which gets a tiny touch by Viduka's head. The ball is not more than a meter wide.

The Aussie gets the ball headed over from Kewell and lobs the ball past Dida and onto the roof of the goal.

Kewell helps put pressure on the Brazilians.

Robinho gets the ball on the right side of the box and moves in to shoot. His shot hits the post and goes straight out to Fred who only needs to put his foot to the ball.

The Brazilian shoots from behind the penalty spot but drives it high over the goal.
