Let the ‘great debate’ begin!

Senator John Kerry has declared himself the winner of the Democratic presidential race. Kerry clinched his party's nomination after winning another primary, this time in the state of Illinois. Kerry used the opportunity to formally declare the opening of the campaign between himself and President George W. Bush, leading up to the election in November.

Both sides have now begun what Kerry called a "great debate" about economics and foreign policy -- and particularly U.S. involvement in Iraq.
