Kerry names Edwards as running mate

After months of speculation, US Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry has name senator John Edwards from North Carolina as his running mate. Edwards was the last major candidate competing against Kerry in the democratic primaries and emerged as a favourite second choice for democratic voters. Kerry said he hopes Edwards will add energy and a common touch to the team.
