The man convicted of the 1988 Lockerbie bombing has been released from prison on compassionate grounds. Scotland's justice minister made the move after doctors said Libyan national Abdel Basset al-Megrahi had terminal cancer and only months to live. Megrahi was sentenced to life in prison in 2001 for the bombing of a US airliner over the Scottish town of Lockerbie. The attack killed 270 people. US President Barack Obama has called Megrahi's release... a mistake.
