Israel starts an inquiry into the commando raid on a humanitarian flotilla for Gaza that left nine aid workers dead

Janine RabeJune 28, 2010

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be the first witness to testify before the committee investigating what led to the killing of nine aid volunteers when Israeli commandos stormed a Gaza-bound humanitarian flotilla. The work of the three-man committee will be led by a retired Supreme Court judge. Two foreign observers will follow the deliberations. Turkey, though, says the panel will be biased and has called for Israel to accept U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon's proposal for an international inquiry.
