At Mercedes test engineers can now put vehicles through their paces without setting a foot out of southern Germany. The automaker's new climatic wind tunnels can simulate temperatures that range from minus 40 to plus 60 degrees Celsius, wind speeds of up to 265 km per hour, tropical downpours and severe snow storms.
