Earlier this month several hundred thousand Roman Catholics in Poland took part in a communal prayer for Christian values in Europe and the rest of the world. Though the event was billed as ‘a rosary for peace’, it stirred controversy because many of those who took part in it prayed for Poland to be spared the influx of Islamic immigrants.
