Inside Europe: Poland's constitutional standoff with EU

Poland’s government appears to have stepped back from a direct collision course with the European Commission over its perceived violations of the rule of law. Brussels put pressure on Poland to sort out its constitutional crisis or face legal proceedings, which have never before been applied against an EU member state. That sparked an angry reaction in Warsaw, as Julian Berner found out.
