At this time of year the skies above Malta are filled with the spectacular sight of migrating birds. They're on their way from Europe to their wintering grounds in sub-Saharan Africa. But thousands of them will never leave Malta - they'll be shot down by hunters. Five years ago the European Court of Justice ordered Valetta to ban Spring hunting, but the practice has continued unabated.
