How much music means to the Roma and Sinti people

Around 12 million Roma and Sinti people live in poverty often on the outskirts of European cities, eking out an existence any way they can. But music has served to strengthen Romani culture, identity and belonging. The author Carol Silverman once said, Romani people “are revered as musicians and reviled as people.” Our correspondent Pavel Sraj has more.
