November 4, 2024Democracy and freedom prevailed on one side of the German-German border; repression and dictatorship reigned on the other. After World War II, Germany was divided into East and West for 28 years. Families were torn apart. Buildings and entire communities were demolished to make way for the inner-German border.
The Berlin Wall fell in 1989, heralding in a new era in the country's history. That was 35 years ago — and we're celebrating:
