Germany's national railway operator Deutsche Bahn is ready to go public. That's certainly the message DB's boss, Hartmut Mehdorn, is sending. Last year alone, the company earned a record 1.7 (B)billion Euros. But Mehdorn says that's not enough: Deutsche Bahn needs more money to expand, which is why he wants to float the company on the stock exchange. A lot of rail companies are up for sale, and Mehdorn says DB needs to strike while the iron is hot - or lose its place at the top of the European pile.
