Germany’s far-right AfD expelled from EU parliamentary group

Two weeks ahead of European elections, Germany's far-right Alternative for Deutschland – or AfD – has been expelled from its EU parliamentary grouping. It follows a series of scandals around the party's lead candidate, Maximilian Krah. The fact that European far-right parties find the AfD unpalatable shows how radicalized it has become, says Nicolai von Ondarza from the German SWP think tank.
