Germany's defence minister visits troops in Afghanistan amidst more allegations over the Bundeswehr's handling of an air strike

German defence minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg is facing fresh allegations over a German-ordered air strike in Afghanistan. A German Newspaper reports on Saturday that the Chancellory had directly ordered tougher action against the Taliban ahead of the attack on to fuel tanks in Kunduz which left up to 142 people dead. On Friday Guttenberg visited troops on the ground, explaining why he had reverted his initial assessment that the air strike had been militarily justified.
