German Wine Country - euromaxx (15.10.2008)

Sebastian KatzerOctober 16, 2008

German Wine Country is the name of our series this week and the title couldn't be more fitting when you consider that the oldest wine cooperative in the WORLD is located just 35 kilometres south of the former West German capital Bonn. LM REIN The Mayschoß-Altenahr cooperative was founded 140 years ago in Mayschoss in the Ahr Valley, originally as a way for poorer vintners to pool their resources. Over the years it has grown and developed its own reputation for excellent wines and we paid it a visit as part of our oenological tour of Germany.
