An increasing number of bullying incidents has significantly increased the feeling of insecurity amongst the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in the Netherlands. Many gays feel that they cannot 'openly be gay' without the risk of being assaulted. A gay rights group together with the University of Amsterdam have established the Pink Panel to research the development.
