Gagaku - Ancient Japanese Music

Japanese Gagaku is one of the world's oldest living orchestral tradition. Originally, this musical tradition was reserved solely for the entertainment of the Japanese emperor. The current Emperor Akihito has his own orchestra, The Imperial Household Agency. Maria Bakkalapulo had the rare opportunity to attended a performance of this ancient orchestra.
